I have tried to use the icons in my posts, but when they post its only the programming words... Need help!

If youre talking about the smilies ,put a space or two in between.Ive found if theyre to close to , . " / etc, thats what youll get on your post. example--- period at the end of a sentence . instead of how the smilie should be . other than that

Yup, need spaces. I just looked a few of your older posts and noticed the spaces weren't there.
