I bought this at a yard sale that was advertised as appointment only. It is an antique 1915 enamel Sterling compact. It has the initials WH on them which I came up with as walker and hall, but as far as finding another compact or anything even similar I'm kind of striking out. I'm wondering if I should just go with like $300 starting bid or buy it now or best offer I'm not really sure where to start with anything like this?

There is some damage on one side where it looks like it was dropped. But I don't think it's enough to really make it truly hurts the value but just wondering what some of you may think?

And by the way I think I'm going to start checking contacts at estate sales from now on some of these things are crazy expensive! Thanks for looking.

Nice compact! I sold this one for $75+ shipping in May. It wasn't Sterling though. Made by Lamode. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1445829117.265277.webp
You could try a $300 BIN or BO. You can always drop the price if it sits with no interest. Not sure about the damage but it may affect the price??

I think $300 is a crazy high price for that damaged compact, sterling or not.

Damage on enameled anything takes the prices down a lot. Try the 300 what could you lose, but a small listing fee. I often add that auto relist and drop the price as it's relisted. I determine how much to drop it by the activities it gets if it doesn't sell the first time listed, such as if I got any messages of offers and how many tags it got. It's like a reverse auction.
