Help with ring ID

Hi all, I found this brass ring on Sunday. I haven't had much luck in IDing it. It looks old, but could be a cheap kids ring. I found it in a 1844 home side lot that is very close to a river. There was fur trading activity on the site before the house. I found the ring about 10 yards from where I found a War of 1812 light artillery button and a 1806 King George the third copper. Thank you
