Help with rocks, minerals, and gems

Hello,

I recently bought a storage unit with many different types of rocks and I know nothing about them and was hoping to find some help. I will post some pics but I have many more if you would like to help me identify.

Welcome to Tnet, Lisa.

I expect the Mods will move your thread to to the 'Rocks/Gems' section to attract more interest from the forum's rockhounds but, to get you started:

Your main picture and the the first two thumbnails look to be quartz specimens.

The fourth thumbnail appears to be pyrite.

The fifth and sixth thumbnails (the orange crystals) are aragonite.

The last thumbnail looks like it might be goethite.

1st - You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country). You might also consider adding your state (or country) to your displayed profile (SETTINGS -> EDIT PROFILE) - members may have more success helping you (your location may help, etc.)...

I agree with Red-Coat. The third picture looks like Calcite.

#7 could be rutilated quartz.

#5 is Chalcopyrite and Dolomite crystals from the Tri-State Mining Dist. and #4 looks like Gypsum.
