Help with Silver Thimble ID

I posted this in Todays Finds with the other items from a hunt this weekend. I looked closer at the thimble and noticed writing. I cant make it out. To the best I can tell, it looks like "CHA" or "CRA" on one side and something "IT" on the other. Just hoping someone has experience with a similar thimble before.

Most likely the owners initials

If it where initials they would be engraved from what I know, my guess is that is a makers mark of sorts.... nice find!!
