Help with that

Hi i went metal detecting today in a place I found in the forest the place look abandon for many years as far I can tell...I found that tile because some iron still attach to it..it was maybe 15 cm deep near the fire place you can see on the picture I have found a small bits too... look like bronze or brass I am not expert sorry look like windows lock maybe not sure...the tile and the wall around make me wonder if this place was used as a fort Before? The thing is built on top of big rock and there's trails going all around that place.. hope you can help.... I live in Canada Quebec we don't have rich history like other place...I didn't take pictures of back of the tile there's nothing..thank you

Likely a ID Tag for the tile when delivered perhaps in a crate. Or perhaps a store ad piece for their tiles

yes, they can be a doozy. Especially up north where they seemed to have a lot of in house or attached wells very close to the foundation.

Dont think its to old.Some of that cement mortar looks in pretty good shape(pix. 3 & 5)....Good luck.

Like I said Quebec is still young so much more where I live I look on internet the history of the place I live... people started to come live here around 1850 up but some squatter was there as early as 1820... And yes I walk slowly around always used the same ways to go inside... I didn't find any well so far
