Hello, so I'm new and I haven't purchased a metal detector yet, that's what I need help with. I hear the Garrett Ace 250 is great with finding coins, which is what I'm interest in. However, the Bounty Hunter QS is alot cheaper. Is the Bounty hunter QS better finding coins than the Ace 250? Which one would I find more with? Also, is the Ace 250 waterproof?

After reading some other posts, I have decide to go with the ace.

I think Id choose the Ace over the bounty hunter, the Ace250 is a proven coin machine. Hopefuly you will learn your machine, master it then move on up to a better machine in the near future. Only the coil is waterproof on a 250. You can stick the coil in the water but dont get the control box wet! Good luck & let us know how you do!
