Which way are the wires situated in relation to the letter?

The fasteners are on the top and bottom of the "s" and it is shaped like it curves thanks

Then I don't think it is a rosette /.. it looks to me more like a "blinker" .. a decorative accoutrement that went on horse blinders.

Hey ..my name is Roy I'm in Montgomery county Pennsylvania I'm new to metal detecting pretty much I haven't really found anything worth any real money. I keep trying but can't find anything. I was wondering if you, being from Chadds Ford PA would give me a hand and help me find somewhere to metal detect? I live near Fort Washington & not far from Valley Forge too! ... ;)

I SECOND THAT!

If the attachments run the same direction as the "S" then it can't be a rosette. They would have to run perpendicular toit.
Additionally, the wires are too thin to have been a rosette loop.
I think that they are what's left of attachment wires, and still would place my bets on its being a blinder accoutrement ..aka "blinker"

Chester county here as well. Sure looks like it was attached to something that was curved. The "wires" as there being called seem to be more like nails to me? If so it may have been affixed to wood.

Thanks for all the info guys
They do look more like nails than wires
But if it was attached to wood why would it be curved? I think by what people were saying it is a rosette

What part of Chester county I am in southern

By the same token.. IF (and that's a big IF) it is a rosette, why would it be curved?

It's baffling
I thought when I first dug it that it was of a boot
It was close to the brandy wine battle field could it be civil war?

Here is one quite similar, although the attachments are different.

Can anyone tell me what this might be, it's about 2 x 1.5 inches and made of bronze or copper it was found near chaddsford pa

I think it's some sort of a marker for a walking staff (u nailed it on to lay claim to it)
Also could it be from a rifle stock? Ot an old farming tool? Sears and Roebuck has been around since 1901!
