Help!!

This coin is 32mm and weighs 25 grams there is no detail left. Any idea?

If I'm not mistaken this is at least the third post of this. I'm pretty sure somebody would have chimed in if they had any idea, but there really isn't much to work with there. Chalk it up as a mystery.

Chalk it up as a "copper slug".
This IS what it is.

It looks kind of like a King George III large cent state copper. These hybrid coppers are usually worn smooth and very hard to ID. Chalk it up as a smoothie and go get your next one.

Assuming it is a coin it must be a pedifort (double thinckness) of some kind. Does it have an engrailed edge ?

Some Irish copper from the 1823's are know in piedfort style, I think only as proofs, I'm sure there are others.

I would still lean toward a "slug"...

Notice the apparent flathead screwdriver "marks"...
These would have been caused by "punching out" the slug manually.

An electrician here would be quite familiar with this I assume... which I am not.

I do electrical work punch outs are not copper. Copper boxes would be way to expensive they wouldn't use them boxes and there knock outs or slugs are steal not copper

Copper was common years ago... almost all lights and early electrical were copper...
As well as gas and oil lamps.
Early 1900's is when electricity was becoming widespread....
Outdoor lighting like a porch socket...
Could have been from an old sign... who knows.

Scratches indicate removal in my book.

Modern Electric stuff is galvanized steel.

You can see an edge on one of the sides still. And knock outs are not that thick either. I know this coin is as long shot it's really exciting

I rest my case...
"knockouts" only have ONE edge... on one side.

Say what you will... Sometimes it is hard to "see through" these things.

Was this found in a farm field? Those cuts or marks look like they were made by a wheel harrow? As to the electrical box knock out theory, electrical boxes are made out of steel not copper. HH

I know it's a little bit of a stretch but I think I have finally figured it out!
Going by the edge inscription and the diameter was so close to 32 and 33 you can assume it could of been 33 at one point

I do not see it "yet" ... heh.
But that does not mean it is not there..
I know nothing of this "coin".. maybe Rick does.
