sunday we found a indian camp that is normally underwater in a local lake. In the rocks we found about 15 grinding holes and big pile of small river rocks . At that point i found a liberty quarter no date. How do i look for artifacts by the grinding rocks? Oh also i will take my camera cause a very large rock has some words carved in it.

The artifacts could be anywhere around the area where you found the grinding holes, or nowhere nearby. Likely, if this site has been under water in a lake for a long period of time, you'll need to wait for more rain to wash away the years of silt built up on the bottom that could be covering things up. This is a catch 22 in a lake, as rain usually begins filling it back up, lol.

Look for signs like flakes, camp rock, tools. If those exist, it's only a matter of time and persistence.
