here i my find a cast iron royal british lion

i found this in hamilton ontario, it is 7 inches tall an 8 inches long. it was 9 inche deep, i thought it was part of an engine at first till i flipped it over

i was hunting in an old park by a bay in a field it is close to where the war of 1812 was fought in hamilton ontario

Any guess as to what it was on or used for? Does it have holes in the legs for mounting. Hope it cleans up good.

Clean that baby up, it's a nice find! Have you tried cleaning up the oxidation, and if so what did you use? My recomendation would be to sndblast it with a small media and then use a rust prevenytative oil on it.
