Ladies/Gents,

Seems there's a few folks/newbies with some interest in detecting in the Herndon/Sterling area. Just an fyi - there is a small club in that area that meets as follows:

When: 2nd Tuesday each month, 7:30 pm (there's a meeting next week)
Where: Sterling Community Center right at Church Road and Rt 28, southeast corner

quite honestly very small club with some "good ole boys" shooting the breeze once a month. We're all pretty much into CW stuff although an occassional coin, piece of jewelry or bottle may show up. As in any CW club guys are somewhat reluctant to release site info but will certainly help identify finds. There's more site info sharing than other clubs I've participated in but no one's going to give up hard earned research/permission too easily. If you're interested stop by and give us a look/see - there should be a couple of relics to look at....or you can email me at rovnrbl@aol.com on more questions. Open to guys and gals. rovnrbl

Is the meeting open to anyone?? Can I bring some relics??

I work in Sterling.

Re: Herndon/Sterling - Club meeting Can I bring relics???

Was Robert E. Lee a Confederate general, of course you can bring relics, the more the merrier and any other trinkets you may have unearthed recently.

Meeting is open to all - even Martians and Garret users.

I'd like to come out.

Anything else I need to know? Room number or something?

Thanks,

DCMatt

I'll bump this to the top for any new folks in the area who might be interested in attending. Club meets once a month, 2nd Tues around 8:30. We're now in the new facility at Claude Moore Park - one of the meeting rooms at the north end of the building. Primarily a relic club but we'll look at anything. Pretty low key club and willing to exchange info - at least some on sites. You're welcome to bring your finds, current or older. We have Find of the Month, 50/50 and a lot of BS.

I'll try and answer any additional questions that you may have. By the way, Claude Moore Park is in Sterling off Cascades Parkway and north of Church Road. If you want serious directions, here you go:

Re: Herndon/Sterling - Club meeting 2nd Tueday 7:30pm

Club meetings start around 7:30 pm (not 8:30 as indicated in the earlier posting).

It's a small group, usually 6 - 8 guys. Always somebody with interesting finds.

See you there.
