Hello ,
I am new to this forum, but I have been metal detecting for years.I wanted to get some opinion on a button I dug near Fort Adams In Newport RI.I know the Hessians were here for a few years. All the other buttons I have seen have the Eagle on it,and mine didn't,so I researched how the Hessians came about being stationed here. Well I found that there were 5 divisions from different parts of the German Kingdom ,and they all wore the uniform from the part of Kingdom that they came from. I wanted to see if anyone else ever found one of these? Or to get some opinion .
I joined this forum about a month ago,and this is my first post.I have some pretty interesting relics and am going to start posting soon:skullflag:I live in the land of Pirates, and I Love The Thrill of The Hunt,Peace DSCN5763.webpDSCN5771.webpDSCN2052.webp

Not sure what it is, but looks relatively modern compared to the history you speak of.

It is hard to tell from your pics but it may be a modern fashion button based on the French Double Tournois coin.

What are the letters on it?
