I would love to go there. I have cruised by it, with its cloud encircled top, it looks so mysterious

Reads like a carronade gun.
A 12-pounder carronade would be about 2 feet, 2 inches long; weigh 654 pounds and have a 5.5 inch. bore.

I was thinking the same Don, I found a similar sized gun on a fisherman's porch on the north coast of Hispaniola. I bought it from the guy and attempted to rescue it. I got it into conservation on my own dime, then the culture office took control of it when I left the country. Not sure how it came out, I never heard. It was in pretty rough shape and completely dry when I got to it.
