Put a penny beside it as a size comparison if you could.

I'm guessing either an Indian head or Wheatie.

It's well worn but 2 features stand out on the coin.
Letters on the edge.
The silhouette of a left facing profile.

Just throwing ideas out.
It might be a early Half Cent.
Possible a Farthing.
Well worn though.

I attempted to gently clean it you can make the head out better and looks like there's writing on the edges almost all around the counter on the front. The back is too toasted

I'd call farthing as well. The evasion ones counterfeited here in North America are all over the place in diameter and thickness. So your coin certainly falls within the size range. The sea will also reduce its thickness to almost nothing. That said, I have found many pennies that look just like that.

Stick it in some oil for a few days, dry it off, and then leave it out for a month. I swear they develop over time...That or I am looking at them with a fresh eye, forgetting what I was trying to see before. Time and time again I have come back to an unidentifiable coin after a month or more and I can see right away what they were.

Cropped the one picture for the OP so it's easier to see. Works great this way when switching between sites for comparing attributes.
