I am somewhat familiar with the petroglyphs of my own country (the United States) but know almost nothing of those of Saudi Arabia. As those you show include depictions of people and animals I would assume they date from the age of ignorance. Since they must have taken awhile to create, there may be camp sites with ancient trash scattered about nearby. In the southwestern United States I have often found the stone tools which had been used to create the petroglyphs discarded below the cliffs where they appear.

The city of Al-ʿUla was once the capital of the ancient Lihyanites (Dedanites). The nearby mountain, Jabal Ikmah, contains hundreds of etched inscriptions somewhat similar to yours. Did you make your find in that area?
