I find stuff because I go a lot. Went with some friends and found this little guy lying in a lot of deer doo and with all the trash in the world. Rev War officers' cuff button in brass. Has a standing lion, facing right, tail in the air, mouth open an standing on a flat of ground. Got a ton of trash too and some nice Rev War iron which is hard to get now. IMG_0552.webp I had trouble with the computer just now, but I drove a long way to get this one. At our "farm" from last year also dug an unexpected 18t century 2 piece repousse button like the officers used. Don't think there is anything on it. One person I was with dug a nice .69 caliber musket ball, British and this little button could have been from the 1st (Goldstream) Guards or Royal navy as the motif was used by both.

Are you gonna clean the deer poop off of it so we can see the lion?...lol Nice find!

No, the deer did not eat the button. But I was digging where the deer bed down. Deer doo everywhere. Haven't retired yet.

Fyrffytr1, Isn't it nap time yet?

Msbeepbeep, I climbed a mountain once to detect the top and threw up when I got there. Got 3 Rev War marked buttons. That was another lifetime ago.
