Hey mastereagle. Is this a colonial zipper pull?

The truth is, I have no idea what this is. It was found at a colonial era site and has a nice patina on it. It's about 1 1/4 inches from end to end. Anyone have any ideas on this one?

It was a grounding strap of some type. The thing sticking off the side would have had braided copper wire going to whatever was being grounded and the other hole is where it was bolted to something. Probably off a tractor or some piece of farm equipment.

silly everyone knows the Colonials used velcro!
