I am so new to this that yesterday was my very first metal detecting "treasure hunt". I found 2 nickels and a dime and a chunk of mystery metal that I was hoping someone could help me identify.
Had I seen it and not had a metal detector, I would have assumed it was just a rock but the detector was going nuts. It's fairly weighty, so I know it's not aluminum. It has no uniform shape that I can see, you cannot bend it, it's very hard. Looks like it has mineral qualities but I'm just at a loss for what it could be. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Forgive me if I am posting this in the wrong place.
