Welcome to the forum. As others have said, if it's lead, then it could have been used for a multitude of items. Fishing weights come to mind for me.

A bar or ingot could have many uses.

Your piece looks cup shaped?
Could have capped a pipe.
Or could have been a hammer face for a non marring hammer / mallet.
