Hi Louisiana Folks

I have only been in the hobby for a little while. I live in Baton Rouge. I drive a Taxi Cab so I know the city pretty good. It occured to me today as I passed the Capital Lakes by the govenors mansion that they have drained most of the water out of the lakes. They are in the process of fixing erotion problems. I hunted where the water was very low along the banks for just a little while....I'll admit there is ALOT of trash, cans ect. but didnt have a very long time to hunt. Any one interested in hunting there let me know.......I would love a little help before they get done and the lakes fill back up. I would bet there are some nice things to be found in there! How do you do shane . I grew up fairly close to that area(circa 1950's 60's). Yes I'm an old guy. I don't ever recall that being known for swimming or wading around in that mucky old lake so I would think that there wouldn't be any significant finds around there. But you never know. Do you know the legalities of detecting there? I may be able to hook with you there. Could possibily be something worthwhile along the bank. Ron

Hey Shane I attemtpted to send you a private message did you get? Anyway wanted to see if you wanted to get together and hunt some. I just got a lead on plot of land just under 300 acres. They just cleared it to build a huge subdivision. The dirt is freshly turned out. It has been a cane field for as long as I can remember but I noticed some signs of an old home, a barn, and a couple of silos. I just found out who the owner is and plan on calling him Monday. Don't know what we might find but it sure can't hurt to go check it out.
