Next video working a new tailings pile in a beautiful area! Found some nice color and took the info I learned back home to make some final modifications. My videos are delayed about 2 weeks from the actual prospecting trip due to editing.... I have already used a lot of the feedback I got on here, to add some more water flow -- and my next video will show the battery powered piglet turning into a material processing beast (I can now run it without classifying under 3 inch rocks and it clears to grizzly bar on its own!) But that video will be ready next week =)

Thank you EVERYONE for your insight, comments, and suggestions. They have been INVALUABLE to me.

Lots of AU 2 U!

Hi AU79 Prospector!

Very nice instructive video and neat looking country, thank you for sharing! A few years back I lived in Blacksburg (VPI), you anywhere close to that??

Keep on trying!.........................63bkpr

Nice job on the video --- the sound was a little weird as it went from mono to stereo in the beginning. Looks like a great spot -- The ground looks nice and dry have you tried a drywasher? no need to carry the dirt just pick and shovel like a mad man.
Looking forward to the final video.
Thanks Mike

I noticed the sound issue too... I'm trying an external mic which works better than the stock GoPro mic... but clearly something happened to the audio at the beginning. Still not sure how/why that happened.

I may look into a dry washer for next season so I can test some areas far away from the water. Do they make battery powered dry washers?? (no gas equipment on my claim...)

If your dig site is remote from where you park your truck then a Whippet (https://www.searchencrypt.com/search?eq=X8FwN/yq/3mBIkcqHmoDrTRh8qPR2qPK8tVK9inUQYI=&ett=1) is a good choice though they are pretty pricey....there are others that are less expensive but bulkier and probably heavier (especially if they use a conventional battery) but if your site is near your truck they may be a better choice due to price. I, almost exclusively, run remote (1/4 mile or more distant) old washer box tails with my Whippet and I am catching fine placer gold much of which is as small as minus 100 mesh. I run out of personal "steam" before I run out of battery power but they are reported by one user to run many multiples of buckets and still have usable power.

Good luck

Thanks for the tip guys... looks great, light weight, and portable.... definitely costs a lot but I can see why. Maybe this can be a Christmas present and I can use it next season =)
