Another lovely day to return back to gridding the new virgin Celtic/Roman Site. It's always thrilling to be the first person to map & find out just what was happening on top of this hill 2000 years ago.
It was meant to be cold but still no gloves required, even on the exposed hill.
We expected the coins to start dropping off as we gridded away from the main site on the Eastern side down the slope. At this stage its looking like it will continue right to the edge, a much bigger scatter than my scouting had worked out! Today we broken 200 Roman Bronze Coins for this field. (in 6 days
)
5 Hours;
Livery Button - Cow/Bull? (new type for the collection)
29 Roman Bronze Coins
Jetton
Roman Bracelet Bit
Tudor Clothes Fastener
Celtic Bronze Unit
Celtic Silver Unit - Whaddon Goat Type 45-40BC VERY RARE. (Cru'dads revenge for the hammered kicking last outing)
