Hires Root Beer Crown Caps

Hello, I am a collector of cork lined Hires and am currently working on an article that dates the different Hires crowns. While Hires introduced a crown top bottle in the late 1890's I have not been able to identify the design used on the crowns prior to1910, the 1910 crown was the slanted i Hires with 2 stars. Does anyone have any knowledge regarding the crown design used prior to 1910? Thanks
