Historical Mining Claims Research???

Does anyone know specifically who or where to contact to find records of past mining claims in Arkansas? The Eastern States BLM has jurisdiction and I cannot find any specifics in their database. Chuck

Well that was so easy I can't believe I didn't think of it sooner. The respective State's BLM office contain hard copy mining claim records. Arkansas has no state BLM office but records are kept at the County Courts where a copy of claims filed must be sent to. My county clerk says they have claim records going back to 1880 maybe farther. This could provide a wealth of sites. Chuck
