Yesterday I got permission to hit a local field that has not been detected before to anyones knowledge. There is some construction going on and they have taken the first five to six inches of the field off and pushed it into piles.
The field is loaded with coin along with the piles of dirt and I'm finding most coins 2 to 3 inches down. I only managed to get on the field last night for under an hour and got well over 50 coins. I did not get a chance to go through all the coins yet but most are a mix of early 1960 quarters, dims, nickels and pennies.Today I'm hoping to get some really old coins and maybe a ring or two.
I will be back on the field after work today and will post pics later this evening.
It is very cool to have the detector going crazy with every step that I take and it might take about 8hrs to complete the whole field so guess I will likely be working with lights tonight. Once I finish getting everything I can from the field I will post pics of my finds and of the location as those that live in the Lower Mainland (British Columbia) are going to be surprised.
