I visited a "New to Our Permit" park on Friday. I thought with the neighboring apartment buildings that were once considered "Hooty Tooty," I might find a few pieces of Silver. This park opened in 1902, and the apartment buildings have some pre-war construction dates. About an hour into the hunt I got a visit from the Park Supervisor. She asked in a pretty demanding tone, "Who do you work for??" I replied, "I work for New York City Transit, Who do you work for??" She told me that she was a Park Supervisor and that I needed permission to dig.
I replied, "Well that should have been your first Question. I explained that this park has been added to the list of parks that we can metal detect and that I have a permit. She walked away. About an hour later, I got a visit from the Parks Enforcement Police. They checked my permit and then went and talked to the Park Supervisor.
There was plenty of clad to be had but I couldn't locate any silver. I did manage to locate two $1 dollar coins within a foot of each other.
The highlight of the hunt was the Batman Watch. Do you think it belonged to the real Batman??
