Made the big mistake of bringing wife and kid with me as wife had to pee 1/2 hour after getting to my favorite spot. We had just left a restaurant, couldn't she have peed there Arghhhhh.... Still was able to find a dollars worth of clad then in one hole I found these and yes I did knick them as they were hidden under some nasty roots and the detector rang them as being deep. A standing liberty quarter with unknown date, buffalo nickel with unknown date and a "37" Merc.

Wow those are great finds! I yet to find any silver. I just started the hobby father's day. I know how you feel I took my 6 year old daughter with me and she did the same thing with needing to use the restroom lol.

Started at the same time. Took a while to figure out the ACE 350 but we are getting along much better now. You need to find some private land and stay away from the bottle cap areas to really get the tone of coins down. A know a lot of people won't agree with that but that worked for me. When I go to a trashy area now, I can tell the difference between coin and bottle cap most of the time.

Good luck and hit up some old areas of town and check out the edges of the woods.

When my girlfriend and I started dating back in 2005 our first date was at the local pub. We were both drinking a lot of beer and she got up to use the hens room several times before we left. Jokingly I asked "if we're out in public somewhere, and you need to wee, tell me you're a girl who can go in the woods." Yes, she replied. Well, we left, walked her back to hers through the park, and wouldn't you know it, she said she had to go. I asked her is she was "man" enough to hit the bushes. Unfortunately my wife wouldn't do that and even if she did, the location (my secret one) is not the place to pee outdoors at. I wish though as I had a feeling that here was a gold coin calling me tonight. First and last time they go with me.
