Don't want to be a jerk, but it's not a snaffel, it's a bar bit usually used on horses that are in a team being driven.

A snaffle Bit is linked in the middle.
Rick67's bit is defiantly a Bar bit.

You're correct - it is a bar bit. Unfortunately, depending on where you live - some do call it it a bar snaffle, and they call a snaffle a broken bar bit - etc., etc. Some even call it a loose ring double jointed snaffle.

But, to be 100% correct, it IS a bar bit.
