Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Very nice relic recovery, congrats! :occasion14:

Yeap, what you guys call a horse rosette. Not sure on the time period other than 19th C.

Nice looking horse rosette.
Based on the fact that the back is iron, I'm thinking late 19th - early 20thc.

THank you all! When I saw the star.... well you know what I was thinking!

Very cool old relic

Nice dig on the Rosette. Cool design. Congrats!
Was at the 153rd reenactment at Cedar Creek which was when the IED was planted. Crazy weekend.

Nice looking horse rosette.

I found a couple that were very similar in a late war Calvary Camp some years ago.

The thin Brass faces were mostly gone ( but could see a piece of a star on 1 & think 1 was a bulls-eye design . )

That has always made me wonder if they were period , but Dozens of Spencer's , Sharps , Burnside's , pistol bullets & Coins from 1829 -1839 & 3 Civil War Patriotic Tokens & 1 ( my favorite A OVC Store card . & Regular modern SGB & 45 acp's 22 lr & shorts were all post 1900 IMO.

So in shorter no relics were found that dated from 'what I think ' was the late 1800's; 1870 -1900 's . in particular.

IMO You have a Civil War Rosette , BTW I've never dug one with a Lead or Solider Back ..::BangHead:
Happy hunting .
