Horse tack?

Found this about 75 yards from where I found heart buckle cover. Seems brass or copper to me Any ideas?

Here are some pictures of rings in horse tack. There are rings on each end of this cinch, or as some say, girth. This picture shows the location of the cinch when on the horse.
Ordinarily the ring in this location on a saddle would be a "D" ring, but it's possible it came off a saddle also, then there is a pack saddle with numerous rings in the harness. and finally there are rings on work and driving harness, so take your choice, so as cresol said, "more than likely."
