well its been about a week or two since i have been out, we have been having some really hot weather, almost unbearable to detect in. but i was bored today and had to get out of the house despite the 103 degrees out. so i hit up my usual park but tried a different area. the park is fairly old but I don't know the exact date and i usually only find the usual modern clad. about half way into my hunt after finding some weird hunks of metal and some other miscellaneous stuff. i got a nickle reading. I almost said forget it because it was reading 6 inches down I figured it wasn't worth diggin in this hot sun for a nickle. well i dug it anyway and look and behold a 1930 s buffalo nickle. cool first one I ever found. So now I figure if theres coins that old around here there must be more. so i started to only dig stuff that was 5 inches or more. i was heading back to my truck and was over a dirt patch in the grass and got a good signal at 4 inches. dug it and finally my first silver and an oldie. a 1914 D barber dime. I'm stoked i don't think its high in value but just the fact I got my first silver makes me happy.
