hot on a skirmish site

So I've been looking for. Spot where the NC Homegaurd briefly tangled with Stonemans calvary and as I posted the other day I found one fired minie. Well I went back to that area last nite just before dark and pulled two round balls, what may be a shell frag and these weird pieces of lead right together. The lead pieces are like part of a broken ring and its heavy like lead but has a weird flaky patina. Could just be junk, any ideas? Either way I think I'm on my site now. Oh and for the record the minie in the photo is the same one I posted from the other day, just wanted to include it in the group.

Those pieces look like white metal or pewter .. No idea what they are to, though.

Thanks, they do kind of look like that, but are lead heavy, so I dunno. I though maybe lead that something had happpened to, like maybe from part of a shell. Also I found them near the frag so, I thought id post them and see.

Found another handfull of musket balls today. Still nothing else but one minie and a bunch of musket balls. Based on the archaeological evidence I have to assume this skirmish consisted of 700 naked guys throwing musket balls at each other, I mean where are the buttons etc? Lol
