Not sure what this Indian head is made of but it turned out great, I assume not all copper as other pennies did not turn out the same.
This coin was so crusted I did not know it was an IH
I used an electric potpourri pot and took it out to scratch it with tooth picks about every 3 or 4 minutes.. for hours on end to get to this.
I think if you go too long it starts to damage the surface. After I finished I washed it with dish soap, then soaked it in water over night. After it was dry I coated it with Vaseline.

I've had the best luck on wheaties and IHP. LCs just don't seem to clean up well. Maybe the coin composition, maybe the age, maybe a mixture of both.
