made a short road trip today and found some decent stuff. my question is on the teardrop/leaf. is it a preform? a paleo blade? it is nicely worked, these pics do not do it justice, it is pretty thin. it was found in the vicinity as the paleo? base. just sittin on top of the sand, shooting a hint of reflection:)
and a scraper to boot.
thanks :)

great. so it is a blade then?

Definitely a blade! And I would hit that field as much as possible. Any signed of worked flint would bring me back.

Looks to be a cache blade or a preform most likely not paleo probaly archaic but still a real nice blade and a site worth revisiting for life.

cool thanks all, oh, and its desert, not a field ;D

Okay Chong2 I just got off of google earth and I can't figure out why you have to drive so far. I saw several drainages to the north and west, and rock outcropppings to the east. After all your right on a major (desrt) river. I'm sure the city is tore up, but I'd follow that river until I got permission.

With finds like that I'd be back there combing the area.

soill, thanks, but i just dont function well here. i have been out numerous times, hours and hours, and find nothing. i figure i would do great but i dont. there are tons of agate and apache tears so i would figure there would be some decent finds. and as for the river there is just too much drama for me right now to be walking along it "juarez" says it all. and those rock cropping and stream beds are either military or ex military bombing ranges. its too much of a pain to do anything in this hell hole of a city/county. thats why i travel, not a care in the world over there. 8)

I see. The longer you hunt, the more people you'll meet, and you'll get more and more sites to hunt. Good luck.

soill, and everyone else. i apologise if i seemed harsh about talking about the area i live in, its just every time i think about it a really ticks me off. didnt mean to seem harsh guys!!!!! :D
