I'd like to start a thread for the passing of household hints and tips.
I'll start with this one: If you have a broken light bulb that the metal base is still in the socket, use a wooden broom handle end to put in the socket and turn to remove.

Half a potato works well too, just make sure to turn the light off first.

Everthin posted works well .
Vegetable oil is a great solvent to remove chewing gum from the matted long hair of your little girl that fell asleep with gum in her mouth .
