Re: FIREARMS NO LUCK ON A new TNet board section ?

Beginning to look like someone may have to give rmptr's idea a try. My concern with the idea is, how would people find the gun forum then? It wouldn't be listed as a firearms section on the forums page, it would just show up under the member's name and only those that knew about would be able to find it without direction or by stumbling across it. Am i correct in my thinking or am I missing something?

Re: FIREARMS NO LUCK ON A new TNet board section ?

I know what that is, J-G!

Wow!

I had a buddy who had one of those 8mm mags.
Hard hitting flat shootin' ... Man, that was quite a rifle!

Ha! Ha! That old 91/30 ain't gonna bother you at all...
..........

Moving right along...

We could promote a firearms page pretty much by word of mouth (post).
...As in where I have my Honest to Goodness disclaimer tag on my posts (below), it could just as easily welcome all others to visit the firearms page at Schwarzenegger_the_Detector personal pages at Tnet.
MOF, we could do it at other sites we might visit.

One important thing for Tnet is when you begin a thread or topic in a forum is to fill in those tag words.
They get out there into the web and send people this way... always put firearm in those words.

I dunno... I don't wanna change the face of Tnet or anything. It's a great place.
We could probably build a significant amount of traffic by just word of mouth.

I just read something interesting today... The M3A1 remains on the official list of US military weapons,
yet they haven't bought one in about 60 years, and they haven't been manufactured in about that long.
And, most of them that were built were done so by a GM headlight division!
The wire stock is used as a wrench to remove the barrel for cleaning and also for loading the magazine.
And, there's an oil reservoir in the grip, with a screw on cap!
Ha! Ha!

m3a1curve.jpg

I've never seen one.
Probably never will.

But I still find it entertaining.

Best

Re: FIREARMS NO LUCK ON A new TNet board section ?

Is this the Firearms forum?

How many posts in favor of starting one is it going to take anyway?

Maybe they are waiting on a gun sponsor before starting one.

???

I reported the post with the list of members in favor. Maybe a Moderator or heaven forbid an Admin will see it and grace us insects with a response.

Mosin Nagants are very manly rifles. Cheap, powerful and reliable. Every gun owner should consider buying at least one for their collection.

I don't mind admitting I'm just not getting better with age.
My vision is going downhill.

Perhaps I should get one of these.

My vote is yes.
The Hi Point 40 caliber semi auto hand gun, has been a reliable side arm
for me. For a couple of years. I have a 40 C. Carbine on order.
Sure there are better gun's. Anyone can pay a thousand dollars for a nice hand gun.
And, as sure as shooting, there will be someone else that will say, The $1,500 gun
is more reliable. People need some type of weapon now, More than ever to protect their
family. And, if a low cost Hi Point gun is what they can afford. Then they should
buy it.

Re: FIREARMS NO LUCK ON A new TNet board section ?

M3s up until recently have been a standard issue item in many of the US Army's tanks as a sort of lastditch backup, AFAIK the M4 (M16 based Carbine) have replaced most of them.

I have fired them both suppressed and unsuppressed, but never seen a curved barrel before, nice.

Re: FIREARMS NO LUCK ON A new TNet board section ?

No I haven't, JG...

Looks like a 380.

Handy looking little pistol, would probably be good for Savant to shoot with his girls, especially with the adjustable rear sight. I like fixed sights for something to put in your pocket, though.

AZ ex... Somebody finally commented on the curved barrel!

I think it was prototype, or at least limited production.
and mostly for tankers.
There was apparently some kind of instruction issued with the curved barrel on how to rotate it while firing through a port, in a rotating motion to clear a blindspot in the tanks vision.

Germans issued a curved barrel to infantry for the MP-38/40 for use in Russian cities during WWII.
Don't know how many were actually built.

Ha! Ha!
Just what do you do, once you get yourself around the corner?
and there's the rest of the war going on right in front of you??? ;D
Crazy!

I guess the recoil swept the barrel sideways...

Ha!
Here's a funny...

Re: FIREARMS NO LUCK ON A new TNet board section ?

Here is one of my favorites, every shot one?

I have trained 1000's of service members on that and other foreign weps prior to their overseas deployments, very accurate and highly reliable.

FWIW some were imported for the US market w/ .380 barrels, I suggest sticking w/ the 9x18 due to it's solid track record w/ regards to reliability.

Non import marked real Russian military MAKs bring big $$.

Re: FIREARMS NO LUCK ON A new TNet board section ?

9x17 - .380 (9mm Kurz, or short)
9x18 - 9mm Makarov "PM"
9x19 - 9mm Lugar/Parabellum/Nato

Great pistols, but nothing beats a Glock 19 for a fighting pistol ;D

Re: FIREARMS NO LUCK ON A new TNet board section ?

Thanks, I have to admit I have never pulled the trigger on a Glock, I'm old, I have a complex about trusting a plastic gun. If it's not steel I don't want to shoot it LOL

It is not plastic. It is polymer. read this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polymer

Re: FIREARMS NO LUCK ON A new TNet board section ?

Well....having seen many 100ks of round go down range in an average year, nothing wrong with a Glock.... :icon_pirat:

They run and run and keep on running with very few issues when compared to other platforms. SIG, Beretta, etc are also great weapons, but too many levers and other devices that can only confuse you in a high stress situation. Again, Glock is a great FIGHTING pistol... ;D

Nice Mak BTW, but the adjustable sites make it a non MIL mak made or modified for import, I am suprised there are no import markings anywhere on it.

Nice!!!
