I got 2 boxes of halves today. The first box had 1-90%er and the silver coin from Dominican republic.

The second box had 1-64, 2-90%ers, a penny between 2 halves. There were 20 halves AND the penny lol, and what appears as a copper coin from 1848.

You can't see the date in the picture, but it's on the reverse side under a large 10 in the center of the coin.

I can't find anything online about either of them. Can anyone shed some light on these?

You rock. Thank you.

I just noticed the date is 1848, but still cool.

I was shocked to find this in a box of halves. It was a great end to the day.

Hope this helps you out! Can't seem to find that copper in my 1801-1900 world coin book...

Just found out information on the old copper... there's not enough detail for me to pick out which exact coin it is, but it is from Portugal.

:hello: :icon_thumright: Don't know how they got there, but I sure wouldn't mind if some of those Dominican Republic silvers were in my boxes!!!!!! Those are nice looking coins !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Indeed they are. I have 1 dominican silver dime(1942) and quarter(1951 or 1952) from buying foreign coins over the years. They're all the size of USA money and same purity(90%)

Great finds! I've never seen coins like that before on the forum.
Excellent photo.

Thanks for the info. I'll clean it up and see if I can get a better scan.

This is the best I could do.
