Hi when do you know what the proper coil is when you go out metal detecting

What Factors Come Into Play
#1 Mineralization
#2 Target your searchin for
#3 Trash in the area

Concentric:

Highest tone will come from the center & should be checked by useing
the X Method w/ a concentric coil.

Double D:

The 10.5" DD 7.5kHz coil transmits like the 6" HF DD Gold Coil

Minelab suggest you useing the Concentric 7.5kHz & 18.75kHz
coils on land and at the beaches.

Double D coils work better on Highly Mineralized Ground than the
Concentric coils you get better seperation.

it really depends on where you're going. if you suspect it has a lot of trash go with a double D or if you have good separation use a concentric.
when I go out I take both, if I need to change, it only takes a couple of minutes
