How do you know which mode to use on the Nokta Impact?

The Nokta Impact has:
12 Search Modes

2 All Metal Modes (with audio discrimination)
2 Non-motion Modes (with audio discrimination)
8 Discrimination Modes - 2 Tone / 3 Tone / 4 Tones / 99 Tones / Deep / Conductive Ground / VLX1 and VLX

How do you know which one of the 12 to use for coin shooting?

Look at Table 3 in the back of the Impact User Manual.
It lays out the recommended settings for various conditions and targets.
Very useful.

Roll the dice and choose!!! j/k. It really depends on your situation. It's just like a tool box. If you need a hammer for nails, then you grab a hammer. You can hammer with a screwdriver, but it won't be as efficient. Study the manual, that helps a lot.
