How does one find 2 silver coins amounting to $0.08 ?? I'll show ya!

Had to share this one...

Local park in Maryland still giving up the goods.

So how does someone find 2 silver totaling eight cents? I suppose a half dime and a three center would be a good guess. This time it's a war nick and a 3 center! I had to share because it is my second 3 cent silver this month, and I've never even found one in 15+ yrs of digging! (The first one was toast...)

Anyway, found the 'trime' at about 5", right above a small nail, and an oyster shell shard.

Two of the indians were stuck together in the hole at about 8". You can see the shiny copper reverse of one. Cool! The two coins that were stuck together were 1873 (worn so can't see if DDO) and 1884. Also had a nice spill consisting of 2 buffs, 1 wheat and 1 transit token.

All found with F75LTD, NEL tornado 12x13 coil, boost mode, 87 sens, usually running 20 disc at this spot and digging everything.

wow great job saving those, I never hunted a park here in MD before i always figured they were off limits or hunted out. :icon_thumleft:

No Trimes here Either..

Very cool when one can still pull old Coins like that out of a local Park.

They are POUNDED! Have to dig every squeak.

Beautiful trime, and nice digs overall!

Awesome job by you!!!

I think this is the first time that I have seen someone find a 3-cent in a park.

I wished my parks were that old. About all that I can wish for is late 1800s or turn of the century spots.

That's a sharp looking silver 3 for sure - those are a tough find !

Great pile of finds.
Good math too.

Congrats.

Congrats! The 3 cent is in great shape!

I have yet to find one.

Wowzers!! not only a 3 center...but in GREAT shape!! I was checking some of those out on Fee-Bay..and trimes in that shape go for a LOT of dough! Great find, definitely on my to-do list also, awesome finds, great pics, thanks for sharing! ddf
