Looks Sideways...

Anyway you're in a good area for artifacts being on the SG river. That whole area around the SG produces also...
 
Looks like a lot of rocks and dirt, nice blue skies. In all seriousness I would keep looking there. Looks like a nice core or scraper in your hand.

More good advice. I agree that you have found a core. Keep looking there. Texas has some of, if not THE best artifacts and material in North America.

Well it’s my first one that’s pretty exciting. What exactly is a core I looked it up couldn’t find nothing on it.
 
A nodule of flint is used to make flakes or blades or spalls. After removal has started, the nodule becomes a core, ready to produce more flakes or blades. It might be completely reduced at one time, or saved for future use. Gary
