How many wheat cents would you say you average in a $25 box of pennies.

I have gotten about a dozen or so in my last couple of boxes.

All 1940's dn 50's.

Is that about aveage?

For a long time I was averaging 12 wheats and 12 Canadians. The last few months has probably been closer to 8 of each. My range has been four to 14.

Probably '44s and 58's are the most common wheats I find. A good box is one where we break the 1940 barrier. Got a '35 this weekend. THat made me happy. But don't don't worry, the older wheats are still around to be found. Mom has an 09 VDB...still looking for an 09S VDB though. We've also found a three Indian Heads in the last couple of years.

I got my first wheat under the 40s a couple days ago it was a 1918 I pulled 9 wheats and 6 canaduh pennies out of that box

Lately I have been getting 5 or 6 in a box. I usually find a lot more wheats in cwr than mwr. I have also found 1 Indian head out of the $284 I have searched so far this year.

I think brinks pennies and nickels are better than other companies such as garda and Dunbar.

I'm not saying Brinks is bad for pennies, because pennies are not culled like people think of silver in the clear shrink wrap tubes. I do ok with Brinks & others; running about 12-15% copper with 5-12 wheaties. I suggest if you can, buy bags from the banks. Your chances are much better to hit a collection, just like silver possibilities. Only one of my four local banks sell me their bags. Good luck & keep stacking.

I'll agree with that I know cents here are better from brinks then Loomis
