How often does Minelab update the Explorer Model anyone know??

I am getting ready to take the plunge this spring and get the Minelab Explorer SE. I know the SE has been out for awhile now, but does anyone have inside info on when the next Explorer model maybe coming out? I would hate to drop $1200 bucks on a machine and then a newer model hit the market a few months later. This treasure hunting is a risky business.

The Explorer SE is a great machine if this type of machine is your thing. Even if they do come out with a newer model you'll still have a great detector and the goodies need to be dug.

Lots of guys are still using the original Explorer and killing the loot with it. It's all about finds anyway.

I think they've about squeezed everything possible out of the Explorer series so chances are when we see something new it will not be an Explorer. The guts of all the units are basically the same and a user can pick up each model and hunt without any new learning curve.

I think a good used Explorer II is the best way to go.
