I'm just wondering about the style of this home. Would it be 1930's - or 40's? Sorry about the pic. All I have is this Google street view image.

Hard too say with this one.. Are you able to get a good photo of that chimney by chance? if so please do and I will be able to date it for you.

Well sorry for not reading your whole post there. I see this is a google image... You know it could date earlier than 1930s, i'd like too see some photos up close though, you can tell it has been restored very well if it has been restored. If you have the address you should be able to dig up land records, etc and find out easily. Good luck.

It's my girlfriend's friends place. He is going to sell it soon, and I'm going to convince him to let me hunt it. I know he'll say yes, it's just a matter of getting in touch. I was just day-dreaming about what could be there. She tells me that it is old inside, but you know what we detectorists are like.... "How old, honey?"

Thanks for your reply.

The small pane glass in the windows is a very old style - but modern designs use it to look older/traditional.

Is it stucco on the first floor? Attached two car garage is 1950ish or later.

It is very similar to the style of my house. I would say 1910-1920. That house has been remodeled with a garage added and window and doors is my guess.

Right on. Thank guys. If I find any silver I'll let you guys know. :)

Look the address up on Zillow.com

look up tax record on county or city site for the address, it has some info may may help

Bah... I went this morning and it was a bust, The whole back area was landscaped at some point. The backyard seemed elevated and out of place. No good targets. Same goes with the front... Sodded at some point. 8 inch bottle caps... modern pull tabs (not even beaver tails). 80's pennies. hahaa

If he still has the house next spring, I'll try the woods. It was a jungle in there.

Thanks for your input.

The house is old enough that there is definitley silver there....don't give up.....look well. Look for features that were used in the past......check out along the street area..., along the side of the house.......thye could not build up much along the house sides.

A good indication of finding how old a dwelling is look at the foundation early ones 19th century usually stone Then bricks then Bold face block then finish block
If it's concrete to new. But still a place to look.
