How old is it?

I know it is what people call a step table but I am unsure of it's age, is it 1950's?

I would venture to say it's most probably a shop project from the 40's. These were used in 2 ways. As a lamp stand with books or magazines stored for reading or used as a telephone stand.

Old but not an antique...maybe 1950's
