How old might this silver pin be?

Hello All. I found this at a 1920's vintage house.

It appears hand made. The "Sterling" inscription looks like it was done with an electric etcher or engraver so it must be...what? 1930? 1920? 1910? Even earlier? Is it even silver?

Likely made by a jewelry class student, most pros use neat stamps. I would bet the sterling mark is correct, and that it isn't over forty years old.

It looks to be from the 1930's to 1940's and was a tac pin. If it is Sterling, it is only lightly plated. I think it was either a prize, or a pin sold at a fair. The Sterling was hand engraved to make it appear more valuable.
