How to find the year a house was built

Along with telling you the value of your home, http://Zillow.com will also list the year that a house was built. Its kind of handy if you get permission to detect at a home and the owner isnt sure of the history of there own house. It may of been posted before but I just wanted to get the word out

Well here in Sweden you often get some paperwork when you buy a house that states when the house was built starting at 1909 or so earlier only maps can help or church documents.
