How to make a part (metal pole) for incomplete Garrett MD?

I bought a used Garrett Infinium which works OK but it is awfully short due to it missing its silver stem. See pic with arrow pointed to that part.

Is there a way to make this part? I have metal working tools and it seems to be basically a 1" diameter aluminum tube.

Also missing is the part above it (see pic) though I don't know its name or function. It is a plastic part, shorter than the silver stem.

I think you could call Garrett and order the plastic part and the Aluminum part also, although you can make the aluminum tube.
