Actually Spart, I think it's the BEST answer so far. Maybe not foolproof but I'm sure it would help. Maybe not armed guards in many cases, just some armed and trained teachers that are willing to do it. Some people are just not cut out for that sort of thing. Just look at Richard Simmons. If a nutjob gets into the school he wouldn't be able to pick out who was armed and who wasn't. Besides Spart, NY has Daddy Bloomberg taking care of everyone now. Where was he when I had to live amongst the violence and large sodas?!

How about armed Drones that could fly around the schools to indiscriminately shoot any crazy armed lunatics from killing any kids? Would not the proposed armed guards shoot the armed lunatics dead as would be their duty, without a trial? "He had what looked like a weapon so to protect the children I shot him" If someone was metal detecting on the school grounds would they have to worry about being shot by a over protective probably under trained armed guard? What type of weapon would be suited for these armed guards being that the general public can easily obtain assault type weapons? Does anyone really want their kids to see fully armed guards as they arrive at school every day? "Little Billy pulled out what looked like a gun so in order to protect little Suzie I shot him" If a kid brings a toy gun to school is he or she going to get shot and killed by the armed guards? Are all the children going to have to be searched in order to see if they aren't packing anything that looks like a gun so they don't get shot? Where is it all going to end up?

It's the unfortunate truth that there is a ton of poorly trained morons out there toting guns. Look what happened to this poor lady in her own back yard after she called the Police.

Guess you don't get it. I was relating to the incident at the Florida collage were the goof shot himself because the armed cops( that are on that campus) were on scene before he could open up on the non carrying students.
Question on affordability maybe some of those worthless professors could give up a little.

Google for Harold Texas ISD. They have had armed teachers in the schools for several years. Rules are all must be carry licensed which means lots of training. Also, they must not tell anyone but the school administration, and must not show the guns. So far no incidents of any kind, and no one threatens anyone. All are volunteers. In reality, it works fine. in the imagination of anti-gunners, it can't work.

How about armed STUDENTS on college/university campus...? Virginia is a "STAND YOUR GROUND" state, and I read where several students at Liberty University, here in Lynchburg, Va. are now, CCW. LU is a CHRISTIAN University founded by Jerry Falwell, Republican "Super-Star"... the Baptists from Westboro Baptist Church (KY) protested at a veteran's funeral (he went to Thomas Roads Baptist Church [LU]); Patriot Guards Bikers were ready to trounce WBO folks, and I think LU students & family woulda gunned the STUPID WBO folks down, eventually; know I would have. And WILL, if they EVER show up in Lynchburg, Va. AGAIN!

Shall we get into all of the people you have seen die or killed, and compare your "expert" knowledge from books and seminars and see how they stack up.
